PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) DC/DC-Schaltregler sind Spannungsregelungs-ICs, die in hocheffizienten Schaltkreisen verwendet werden und so konfiguriert sind, dass sie Ausgangsversorgungsspannungen über (Boost oder Step-Up) oder unter (Buck oder Step-Down) der Eingangsversorgung erzeugen. Andere Topologien können Buck-Boost, Flyback, Forward, Cuk, SEPIC, Vollbrücke, Halbbrücke und Push-Pull sein. Sie unterscheiden sich von linearen Reglern, die Mindestspannungen erfordern und überschüssige Spannung „abbrennen“.
