Ideale Diodencontroller, auch O-Ring-Controller genannt, sind Geräte, die einen externen Durchgangstransistor (normalerweise einen FET) so steuern sollen, dass ein Stromfluss nur in eine Richtung möglich ist, ähnlich wie bei einer Gleichrichterdiode, aber mit deutlich geringerem Leitungsverlust. Sie werden unter anderem häufig zum Schutz vor Rückfluss in Stromversorgungen eingesetzt, die aus Redundanzgründen oder zur Erhöhung der Ausgangsstromkapazität parallel geschaltet werden sollen.
