Andere Topologien können Buck-Boost, Flyback, Forward, Cuk, SEPIC, Vollbrücke, Halbbrücke und Push-Pull sein. Sie unterscheiden sich von linearen Reglern, die Mindestspannungen erfordern und überschüssige Spannung „abbrennen“.
